By default, Zoom adds some compression to your sound to try and cut out background noise. However, for musical sounds this is not helpful, and can make the spoken voice sound unnatural. You can stop this suppression by enabling Original Sound. In the desktop software, you can do this by clicking the Turn on Original Sound button in the top left of your screen during each call (if this is not visible, open your Audio Settings by clicking the ^ next to the microphone icon and you’ll find the option in Advanced settings). For the phone and tablet apps, you need to change the setting before you join a call. Open your app and click on the Settings cog icon (tablet – top left, phone – bottom right) and open Meeting Settings. Scroll down to the Use Original Sound option and make sure the toggle next to it is green. Then you’ll have the option to enable Original Sound in a call by clicking More and then Enable Original Sound. It does not seem to be possible to change this setting if you are using Zoom in your internet browser.
