Myasthenia Gravis is a disorder causing extreme muscle weakness and can impact a person’s ability to see, smile, walk, talk and breathe. With MG, the body’s immune system attacks the connection between the nerves and the muscles, limiting the ability of the brain to control muscle movement. MG affects people of all races, genders and ages. All MG cases are unique. Being diagnosed with a rare medical condition such as myasthenia can feel confusing and overwhelming. MyAware is dedicated to helping people adjust to their lives with myasthenia. It supports people affected by myasthenia, raises awareness about these conditions, funds research to find new therapies to reduce the impact of the conditions and ultimately to find a cure.
Summer 2018 ~ Love Music Junior Choir ~ £2,074.76 raised
juniorchoir.lovemusic.org.uk
In summer 2018, we focused on raising funds for year 2 of our own inclusive and accessible Junior Choir for 8-12 year olds. The choir offers half of its places for free to families who can’t afford to pay to take part and its members travel from all parts of the city to sing with us each week. With thanks to everyone who gave generously, baked cakes, shaked buckets, sang in the concert, to our amazing team of volunteer chaperones, and to those who donate monthly and annually – Junior Choir can’t exist without you!

Spring 2018 ~ The Joshua Nolan Foundation ~ £2,600 raised
joshuanolanfoundation.org
The Joshua Nolan Foundation aims to reduce the number of suicides in Scotland by helping those who need it gain access to quality counselling. 2 people end their lives in Scotland every day, more than the amount who die on Scotland’s roads in traffic accidents. UK-wide, suicide is the biggest killer of men between 20 and 49, even more than cancer and heart disease. Every suicide is a preventable tragedy. JNF’s aim is to reduce these numbers by helping to fund quality counselling sessions for those who desperately need it, whilst also improving awareness of the issue and the support available.
